Antiqued Contemporary Rug

This is a very neat contemporary rug that gives a slight nod to the traditional floral and curvilinear motifs of yore. This rug looks very much like what an antique rug might look like today after a hundred years of wear, use and exposure. The rug shows no wear physically, but rather, the pattern has been altered in some places to make it look worn.

The coloring of this contemporary rug is worth discussing because it is very hard to capture in a picture. The rug is a pretty, variegated very light blue-grey. The pattern of the rug consists of two parts. The first part of the pattern is even with the pile of the background of the rug, and it is grey and slate blue. The raised detailing is a variegated peach and champagne color, and this part is done in an artificial silk. In some lights this detailing appears almost ivory or as dark as gold. The varying heights and colors of the details in this rug give it a very rich texture.
