Bijar is a famous rug-making city in Iran, known for its beautiful repeating pattern designed rugs. Indian copies of such rugs are known among the trade as “Indo-Bijar” rugs, and they have just as much bang but for a lot less buck. This vintage Indo-bijar is no exception.
This vintage Indo-bijar is a perfect fit for a family room, den or man cave. You can see examples of rugs in family rooms here. It has been in our shop its whole life and has not been used in a home. The pattern of this rug is visually interesting and will compliment many different types of decor from bohemian to contemporary. The weave of this rug is tighter than the standard Indo-bijar, giving it a fabulous feel underfoot and lots of heft. It will also hide lots of stains, so if you’re a sloppy coffee or wine drinker you have nothing to fear. Go ahead and get this piece, even if you are a tad bit messy. Enjoy!
