Feta Cheese Commercial Captures Culture Perfectly!
I’m not Greek and cannot be certain of all things Greek, but I can completely relate and understand and laugh out loud at Athenos Feta’s latest ad campaign. Women in swimsuits are accused of being in pornos and a woman in a red dress is told that she dresses like a prostitute. Extreme? Yes! Funny? Yes! Though I have never been in the exact same predicaments, I can appreciate the humor, as I too had a conservative grandmother who told me one hot summer day that a young lady should never leave the house without stockings.
Like the Greeks, the Persians eat Feta cheese all the time. Actually, they just call it, “cheese.” Well, “panir” is what they call it in Farsi. Ask any Persian, and they will tell you that the best feta cheese comes from Bulgaria or “Bulgaristan,” and any good Persian grocery store worth its salt will carry this. The title for the best feta cheese commercials, though, hands down goes to Kraft and Athenos. Good Job!
