Description
This small Karaja Persian rug is just barely vintage, but it packs an eclectic punch. It has no stains, smells, holes or tears, and the original bindings and fringes are intact. It’s quite lovely, and extremely unique, especially in its size. Rugs made with the the fringe on the longer side and not the smaller ends are usually made for floor pillows or bag faces. It is possible that is what this rug was in its former life. As it stands, it is skinny and long or wide and super short, however you look at it. I’d use the rug at the front door, or if I had a boat, I’d use it in my tiny galley kitchen. You can see examples of Persian rugs in kitchens here. This small Karaja Persian rug could also be placed as an accent piece on a bench or as a runner on a table. The red in this rug was hard to photograph, so some pictures were taken inside and some were taken outside from different angles. If you need to perfectly match a red swatch, please mail it to us.
If you’ve only just now started your rug collecting, you may not have come across a Karaja rug just yet. Karaja makes fabulous runners and smaller pieces with geometric styles. They are primarily tribal pieces. Karajas coordinate beautifully with Heriz rugs, and they hold up just as well. Enjoy!
