Description
This is a pretty rug with a funny name. This Wiss Persian rug was made in the small village bearing the same name (pronounced vees, rhymes with fleece, sometimes spelled Weiss or Viss). Wiss is in the outskirts of the famous rug-making city of Tabriz. Wiss rugs were super popular in the ’60s and ’70s in Europe, but very few are made nowadays. They are tougher to find. This look is popping up all over Pinterest, so hopefully the Wiss Persian rug weavers will take note and ramp up production.
This rug is super pretty with its geometric pattern and soft reds and pinks. It is sophisticated enough to work in an adult space, but the pretty pops of pink also make it a great choice for a little girls’ nursery or bedroom. Everything is original, and the pile is in great shape. It has also been recently cleaned. Enjoy!
