This Qum garden design rug looks Iranian made, with its beautiful pattern and exquisitely tight weave, but it is made in China. The industry refers to this type of rug as “Sino-Persian,” and it is beautiful! You can tell from the style and color scheme of the rug that it was made in the 1990s, but it does not show signs of use.
The rug is a “200-line” rug, which is a term used to describe the tightness of the weave. The higher the number, the tighter the weave. Those thick, popular Chinese rugs from the ’70s and ’80s are “90-line” quality, so you can imagine just how amazing this particular rug is in comparison.
