Description
This petite Kashan Persian rug is a treat for any collector or decorator. This tiny rug is so tightly woven of baby lamb’s wool, it has as many knots as a room-sized carpet! Originally made for the floor pillows in tea houses, this size of rug is small, but wide, and with the fringe on the “wrong” side (usually the fringe is on the shorter ends). This rug is very unusual in its design. It has what is called a “broken border” which an outermost border of a rug without straight lines framing the rug’s central portion. You can tell from the design and coloring that this rug was made sometime in the 1980s, but you would not know that it isn’t new from the condition. The rug is in amazing shape with no stains, smells, holes or tears, and it was recently professionally cleaned.
A rug this size and shape would be a perfect pick for a very tiny apartment entryway. It would also wow any guest in a powder room. You can see examples of rugs in bathrooms here. If you love this rug so much that you want two of them, this rug is a pair! Have one on either side of your bed! Enjoy!
