This vintage Kolyaee Hamadan is a great find in a fabulous color that changes as you walk around the rug. The various photos posted show that the rug’s color goes from pink to deep pink and back again. The bright pops of blue and green in this rug help to tone down the pink and give the entire rug some dimension. Though this rug is almost 50 years in age, the pile, fringes and ends are in great shape. It does not appear to have ever been used.
The Kolyaee Hamadan is like the slightly fancier cousin of the Hamadan. The weave is always a bit better and the colors are a bit brighter. Like regular Hamadans, these rugs are tough as nails, and can withstand lots of use and abuse and multiple cleanings. This rug is a great pick for a high-trafficked area like a family room.
