Description
This Bijar Persian rug is an exquisite example of Iranian craftsmanship. The design includes both small repeating patterns as well as floral designs in a tight weave. Though this rug was made in the 1990s, the pile shows no wear at all. In fact, Bijar rugs are so well made, it can take decades before the piles of these rugs show any wear.
The Bijar is called the “Iron Rug of Iran” because it is a sturdy rug with a hefty weave. It is for this reason that rugs of this type are so very heavy. This rug is a perfect choice for a heavily trafficked area such as a foyer. You can see examples of Persian rugs in foyers here.
