Description

This sweet, vintage, red Yalameh Persian rug is the perfect pick-me-up for a dreary front foyer or laundry/mudroom combo. It is made of tough wool, and is perfect for everyday use and abuse. As shown in the two full-frontal photos of this rug, you can see that the rug has a light side and a dark side, but both sides will hide stains quite well. The binding is done in a jovial striped pattern, something indicative of the region where this rug is from.

Yalameh is a small town in the Southwest of Iran in Fars province. It is close to the city of Shiraz, which is known for its rugs, its poets, its wine and its lovers. (Yes, you read that right. And, yes, in the Islamic Republic of Iran.) Qashqai rugs are also from this region, and you’ll notice that they share a lot of stylist elements with their Yalameh and Shiraz Persian rug cousins.

This rug is vintage, but it appears to have never been used. It was recently professionally cleaned, and is ready to greet visitors at your home. You can see examples of Persian rugs in foyers here.
