This vintage Turkish Prayer rug is a sturdy piece in need of a good home. It is in lightly used condition, but could pass for new in a rug shop. The rug is in great shape with no strange smells, stains, holes or tears, and the fringe and binding are all original. Something to note is that the fringe is longer on one side than the other (purely cosmetic, and not structural issue).
The rug is in a Prayer Rug design, though it isn’t really a functioning prayer rug. The term Prayer Rug is really just used to describe a rug that is symmetrical on its vertical axis but not horizontal, because that is what real prayer rugs look like.Prayer Rugs work fabulously in foyers because it feels as if they almost look like an arrow pointing into your house. “Come In” this rug says…can you see? You can see examples of rugs in foyers here. The wool construction of this piece makes it an excellent choice for a high traffic area in your home. It will withstand use and abuse, and the warm earthy colors are sure to blend in nicely with everything else you’ve got going on. Enjoy!
